OC-Lab 3: Information

- How this course is embedded in the master program
- The OC-lab 3 is part of the master program. You have to pass this lab course first if you intend to
enter one of the research lab courses of the organic chemistry groups.
- What to learn in the OC-lab 3
- In the OC-lab 3 you will train all the laboratory skills needed for the experimental work in the
OC-research groups. This is in particular how to handle reactions in an inert gas atmosphere and how to perform
chromatografic techniques. You will get tasks to prepare special compounds needed by the working groups of the OC-department.
You may ask to get tasks coming from groups of your interest. You will have to search the literature
how to prepare these compounds.
- How to qualify for OC-lab 3?
- Passing of OC-lab 1 and OC-lab 2 of the bachelor program or an equivalent ist required. You should have
sufficient experience to perform organic reactions in laboratory glassware with ground connections.
Furthermore you should have sufficient experience to search the literature. If not please look into the
programme of courses of the institute for adequate course offerings.
- Head and Schedule
- OC-lab 3 is offered several times in a year - as a rule prior to the lecture period and after the lecture period, respectively.

- Registration
- To enroll for the lab course please register yourself either directly at Dr. Reinhold Zimmer or use the form given above. With your registration you give your contact data and declare your intent to do the lab course. Do not mix up this regitration with the "Anmeldung" (=application) accourding to § 3 of the "Prüfungsordnung".
