This course is intended for Master students or students in the "Hautpstudium" of the Diplom. It is based on knowledge of elementary quantum mechanics in chemistry, including the time independent Schrödinger equation with applications to simple models such as the particle in a box, the harmonic oscillator, the rigid rotator and the hydrogen atom, including also the necessary mathematics i.e. elementary analysis (differentiation, integration, complex numbers) and linear algebra (matrices, vectors, eigenvalue problems). To profit the course is convenient to have previously attended Physical Chemistry (PC) II or equivalent.

The lectures and exercises are offered in English.
