ParIS is expanding to Berlin

The ParIS Project, home to the IPN - Leibniz Institute for Science Education in Kiel, is expanding. ParIS has come to Berlin and has found a second home in the Department of Chemistry Education. This means that now Partnerships between Industry and School can be formed in Berlin as well.

Beside the objectives already established in Kiel (amongst them the promotion of independent learning, using new media, attaining authentic expertise and making use of educational activities beyond the classroom) our aim is to use the ParIS Project to show students how informed decisions and actions are or can be based on scientific knowledge and methods.
The fields of renewable energy and sustainable development give us the opportunity to practice these methods. Other topics that can be covered in interdisciplinary chemistry education are being planned.

We are continuously looking for colleagues who would like to be a part of our development and research project and are willing to participate in planning and teaching course sequences on renewable energy with a focus on bioenergy.
If you are interested, please contact us.
