THE ADVANCED SCHOOL OF NEUROCHEMISTRY
GENE TRANSFERS AND TRANSGENICS IN THE NERVOUS
SYSTEM: VIRTUES AND CAVEATS
August 4-8, 1999 - Wörlitz, Germany
The ISN is sponsoring an educational program for the advancement of molecular and cellular brain research. Young investigators are invited to apply for The Fourth Advanced School of Neurochemistry to be held in the charming town of Wörlitz, not far from the venue of the '99 ISN/ESN Joint Meeting in Berlin.
Drs. Regino Perez-Polo (USA), Joel Bockaert (France), and Eckart Gundelfinger (Germany) will coordinate the course. Through a series of lectures and informal discussions with an expert faculty the course will acquaint participants with state of the art approaches to gene transfer in various experimental paradigms, with an emphasis on in vitro and in vivo applications. Participants will also have the opportunity to present and discuss their work (in poster form) with the faculty .
Postgraduates (up to 3 years after Ph.D. or equivalent) and graduate students are encouraged to apply for fellowships which will include registration, room and board and partial travel assistance. To apply, kindly submit a curriculum vitae (two-page maximum), a letter of intent stating why you wish to attend, a list of publications (if applicable) and two letters of recommendation from faculty at an academic institution, research institute, or biotechnology company. The number of participants will be restricted, in order to maintain an atmosphere of informal exchange.
Electronic submission via E-mail are welcome. If attachments are included, they must be in Word format. All material should be sent to:
