The Meeting Venue
The ISN/ESN Joint Meeting is
being held at the Free University’s main building, the "Henry-Ford-Bau"
in Berlin-Dahlem. Before the second world war, Dahlem was renowned for
its many "Kaiser-Wilhelm-Institutes". Now this residential area harbors
several Max-Planck Institutes and the Free University. The Henry-Ford Bau
is ideally suited for conferences, since it comprises one large auditorium
(approx. 1500 seats) and several smaller lecture halls (300-400 seats).
Additionally, the large foyer and a gallery afford ample space for posters
and a commercial exhibition, so that the whole meeting can take place within
one building. Several cafeterias and restaurants of various price categories
are located quite close to the Henry-Ford Bau. During breaks one can take
a walk around the campus with its student charm, or in the numerous little
parks near-by. Also, one can visit the famous Dahlem Museum of Anthropology
or the Botanical Gardens.
